Sea Trip to Rahja Archipelago (Without Landing)

On this trip, we will not be landing on the islands but exploring the Rahja archipelago from the boat in a group of 3-6 people.

The Rahja archipelago is a hidden gem of Kalajoki, which is slowly rising from the sea due to land uplift. The archipelago showcases the nature types of the land uplift coast from the sheltered forests of the inner archipelago to the open-sea outer reefs.

The Rahja archipelago is located south of Kalajoki's Hiekkasärkät in the middle of the Gulf of Bothnia. A significant part of the Rahja archipelago has been included in the Natura 2000 network and the national beach conservation program in 1990.

SeaFox Kalajoki wants to contribute to the preservation of the diversity of the Rahja archipelago through its operations. In collaboration with Metsähallitus, we aim to ensure sustainable tourism in the conservation area and help preserve the area's natural and cultural values. We are committed to the principles of sustainable tourism in operating in the Rahja archipelago.

The Rahja archipelago surprises visitors with its diverse bird population, and you can often see eagles with their offspring in the archipelago's sheltered areas. Our skipper is happy to provide more information on different bird species and help you identify them. With a bit of luck, we may also see seals lounging on the rocky shores!

Our common safety is important to us. We go through safety factors related to boating with our customers before the departure of the trip. Each customer is also provided with a life jacket before boarding the boat. We also go through the most important safety issues before departure.
