Seatrip to Rahja archipelago (With Landing)

A diverse nature experience in the Rahja archipelago.

On this trip, we will dock to hike, fish, and explore the old trails in the Rahja archipelago.

The Rahja archipelago is a hidden gem of Kalajoki that is slowly rising from the sea due to land uplift. The archipelago features various types of nature reserves from sheltered forests in the inner archipelago to open-sea outer islets.

The Rahja archipelago is located south of Kalajoki's Hiekkasärkät, in the central part of the Gulf of Bothnia. Most of the Rahja archipelago was designated as a Natura 2000 site in 1998 and included in the National Shoreline Conservation Program in 1990.
SeaFox Kalajoki aims to contribute to the preservation of the biodiversity of the Rahja archipelago through its own actions. In cooperation with Metsähallitus, we want to ensure sustainable tourism in the conservation area and be involved in preserving the natural and cultural values of the area. We are committed to the principles of sustainable tourism when operating in the Rahja archipelago.

The Rahja archipelago surprises with its diverse bird population, and you can often spot eagles and their offspring in the protection of the archipelago. Our skipper is also happy to tell you more about different bird species and help you identify them. If we're lucky, we may even see seals lounging on the rocks!

Instructions for moving around Rahja Archipelago

Book a program: sea excursion to Rahja archipelago with landing.

Price:

Adult: 95€

Child: 65€

Price includes refreshments: sausage, coffee, juice

Duration:

Approximately three hours, including one hour of landing

Means of transportation:

Yamarin Cross

Conditions:

  • We take a maximum of 6 people on the boat at a time.

  • There must be at least 2 people in total for the trip to take place.

  • Children are considered under 15 years old.

  • Please note that the trip is weather-permitting!

Departure point:

Keskuskarin boat harbor, Keskuskarintie 166

Directions: Turn from Highway 8 towards the Hiekkasärkät area at the ABC gas station. Drive straight towards the roundabout. Take the third exit from the roundabout to Keskuskarintie. Continue straight for about 2 km until you reach Keskuskarin boat harbor. Please be at the harbor at least 5 minutes before departure! 

Safety

Our common safety is important to us. We go through safety factors related to boating with our customers before the departure of the trip. Each customer is also provided with a life jacket before boarding the boat. We also go through the most important safety issues before departure.
